Finishing Oedipus by SophoclesIf you missed class on this day, it is your responsibility to finish reading/annotating Oedipus by Monday, September 30th.
Background for OedipusToday, students returned copies of both Oedipus and Antigone, then picked up copies of Hamlet. We also spent some time going over the first poem from the Wordsworth and Frost Poetry Multiple Choice Practice.
If you missed class today, you need to look at the September 6th Daily Boards. If you weren't here, you missed a test. You will not have the same essay questions as everyone else if you were gone. Instead, you will get one essay question to be answered in one 5-paragraph essay. The make-up will be Monday, September 10th after school.
Mrs. Marshall ([email protected]) came to visit our class today to talk with those of you who are on the Nook Interest Sheet. I also introduced two new practicum teachers from Northern Kentucky University! We'll see them every Monday and Wednesday, and they'll also teach some lessons! If you missed class today, please follow the September 5th Daily Boards. You will need to complete the multiple choice practice within. Tomorrow you will take a short answer test on Oedipus and Antigone.
On this day, students moved through the August 30th Daily Boards. If you missed out, you do need to turn in the essay practice packet with a Late or Make-Up Cover Sheet upon your return. I am checking writing workouts soon, as well. Remember that if you miss one of those, you are accountable for making it up on your own time!
Check the August 28th Daily Boards for details on today's class. If you missed class today, or even if you didn't, you should look at the notes I linked to. We didn't have time for this in class, but the notes linked to the slideshow connect the concept of Levels of Questioning with Cinderella!
Check the August 22nd Daily Boards to see what students did today. If you weren't here, as long as you check out all attached documents and remember to submit your homework -- including the Major Works Data Sheet. I can't stress to you enough how important your AP English Literature Syllabus is as far as deadlines. Reference it frequently! I can help you stay on top of this, but you are ultimately accountable for submitting Major Works Data Sheets, Poetry
